{"id":3479,"date":"2026-06-22T21:26:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T18:26:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mikhailinvest.com\/fm-logistic-set-to-acquire-german-industrial-logistics-specialist-schaflein\/"},"modified":"2026-06-22T21:26:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T18:26:18","slug":"fm-logistic-set-to-acquire-german-industrial-logistics-specialist-schaflein","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mikhailinvest.com\/zh\/fm-logistic-set-to-acquire-german-industrial-logistics-specialist-schaflein\/","title":{"rendered":"FM Logistic set to acquire German industrial logistics specialist Schaflein"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"hero\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theloadstar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/5c7146ed9ea6cbd0484bd3df6165ceee-680x0-c-default.jpg\" alt=\"PR_FMLogisticPlateform-2\" \/>\n<p>Photo: FM Logistic<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<time datetime=\"2026-06-22\">22\/06\/2026<\/time><\/p>\n<p>French pure-play contract logistics operator (PPCLO) FM Logistic is set to enter the German market after it today announced that it agreed to acquire \u201ca majority stake in the capital of German logistics group Schaflein\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>FM Logistic did not reveal the size of its stake nor the price, although German logistics newspaper <em>DVZ<\/em> reported that it is set to buy 90% of the target.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Schaflein\u2019s current owners are expected to remain with the company if the deal completes \u2013 it still has to win clearance from Germany\u2019s competition regulator, the Bundeskartellamt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe current management, Achim and Bernd Sch\u00e4flein, will retain an equity stake, thereby securing the continuity and family roots of the business,\u201d an FM Logistic statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The French company added that Schaflein\u2019s vertical profile \u2013 it earns 40% of its revenues from the industrial sector and 27% from the mobility and transport industries \u2013 was a further attraction, as is several of its tech solutions, developed in-house.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSchaflein brings highly sought-after technical expertise: a high degree of automation through its specialised in-house unit LOCIT, recognised know-how in the management of reusable containers through its SprintBOX solution, and a pioneering commitment to decarbonisation,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>According to S&amp;P Global\u2019s CapitalIQ platform, at the end of 2024 Schaflein had revenues of \u20ac211.4m and posted an EBITDA of \u20ac23.4m.<\/p>\n<p>It had a net debt position of \u20ac16.2m and around 1,600 employees.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, according to Capital IQ the privately owned FM Logistic reported revenues of \u20ac1.95bn in the year ended March 2025 and has over 27,000 employees, although chief executive Jean-Christophe Machet said the two companies were structurally similar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFM Logistic and Schaflein share a common DNA \u2013 that of family owned-businesses driven by a long-term vision and thinking in terms of generations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur entry into the German market, the largest in Europe, is based on the deliberate choice of a best-in-class partner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal was not simply to acquire capacity, but valuable industrial know-how. We are investing in growth to carry forward Schaflein\u2019s model and to build, together, an indispensable pan-European market leader,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The deal is likely to see FM Logistic close the gap on France\u2019s largest contract logistics operator, ID Logistics, which last year posted revenues of \u20ac3.7bn and an EBITDA of \u20ac233.7m, according to CapitalIQ.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Schaflein chief executive Achim Sch\u00e4flein said the acquisition secured the future of his company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we prepared the handover to the next generation, we looked for a strategic and industrial partner that could help accelerate the international growth of our business model while preserving its long-term vision and values.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoining forces with FM Logistic gives us that international reach while allowing us to preserve our identity, our management team and our absolute commitment to our long-standing customers,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Photo: FM Logistic 22\/06\/2026 French pure-play contract logistics operator (PPCLO) FM Logistic is set to enter the German market after it today announced that it agreed to acquire \u201ca majority stake in the capital of German logistics group Schaflein\u201d.
